Lana Kaye Ostrander, 75, of Ligonier, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at her residence.

She was born on Mach 9, 1951in Wolf Lake to the late Ray Hiatt and Julia (Fausnaugh) Hollowell.

On May 4, 1971, in Cromwell, she married the love of her life, Michael Earl Ostrander. He preceded her passing in 2024.

Mrs. Ostrander worked as a packer for Kidd and Company Marshmallow in Ligonier, retiring when the plant closed.

Lana loved bird watching, especially humming birds and orioles. She enjoyed cooking and playing board games. Most of all, Lana loved her family, together with Michael, they adopted several of their great-grandchildren and raised them as their own. They will both be fondly remembered for their caring nature and deep love for their family.

She is survived by her children, Jenifer Mister, Angeline Valle, Michael “Scott” Ostrander, Shawn Ostrander, and Alex Valle; six grandchildren, Dylan Ostrander, Kendra Ostrander, Keisha Ostrander, Ashley Mister, Destiny Ostrander, Heaven Ostrander, and Sky Ostrander; and three great-grandchildren, Abel Valle, Alysa Valle, and Madix Bentley.

Also preceding her in death was a brother, Llyod Hollowell.

A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Salem Cemetery.
