Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Kathy Moore, a woman who was strong, steady, fiercely loving, and unforgettable in all the best ways.

Kathy was the beloved wife of Richard Moore and the loving mother of five children: Mark Moore and his wife Rachel, Marlene, Joe Moore and his wife Donielle, Steve Moore, and Brooklynn Ott and her husband Matthew.

She was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren: Cameron, Steven, Jaden, Kennedy, Mackenzie, Avery, Lauren, Fischer, Braden, Aubrey, Hailey, Malachi, and Hezekiah, and a loving great grandmother to 4 great grandchildren.

Kathy is also survived by her siblings, Bob Geller, Shane Hise, Dan Geller, Helen Loggins, and Chrissy Johnson. She was preceded in death by her sister Connie Geller.

Kathy was the heart of her family, and she loved them with everything she had. Her love was honest, loyal, protective, and full of heart. If she cared about you, you knew it. She showed her love through concern, presence, small acts of care, and, every now and then, through a very clear opinion that probably did not require follow up questions.

She was strong willed, but that strength was part of what made her who she was. It helped her face life’s hardest moments, keep going when things were difficult, and stand firmly beside the people she loved. She was consistent in her love, her values, and her devotion to family.

Her life included great joy and deep sorrow, including the loss of her son, Steven Moore, who preceded her in death. Through it all, Kathy continued to love deeply, hold her family close, and remain a source of strength for those around her.

Her grandchildren were one of the great blessings of her life. She cared about them deeply, worried about them often, and loved each of them in the special way only a grandmother can.

Kathy leaves behind a family who will miss her voice, her strength, her humor, her honesty, and her love. They will remember her in the stories they tell, the lessons she passed down, the traditions she helped shape, and the quiet moments when they can almost hear what she would have said.

She was loved beyond measure. She gave her heart fully. She fought strong, loved fiercely, and leaves behind a family forever grateful that she was theirs.

An optional celebratory dinner will follow the service and will start at 4:30 p.m. The dinner is being kindly offered by the thoughtful volunteers at St. Martin de Porres Church located at 6941 E. Waco Dr. Syracuse, IN 46567.
