CROMWELL – Joyce Phyllis (Miller) Robinson, age 88, of Cromwell, IN passed away after a very short illness on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Goshen Hospital.
Mrs. Robinson was born on February 6, 1929 to Otto and Minnie (Poscharscky) Miller at their family farm south of Cromwell, IN. A graduate of Cromwell High School the class of 1947. She married Lester Robinson on March 29, 1949 who survives in Cromwell.
Joyce worked for several years at Dr. Stult’z office in Ligonier, then for 18 years for Essex Wire/United Technologies at the Ligonier/Topeka plants as plant nurse before her retirement.
Joyce and Lester worked on their farm when not at their respective careers which they built into a successful operation that continues today. She was an accomplished pianist/organist and played for several churches over the years, retiring only in recent months. A member of O.E.S. in Ligonier and the Cromwell United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Lester Robinson of Cromwell; a son and daughter-in-law, Lane and Jo Ann Robinson of Cromwell; a grandson and his wife, Seth Robinson and Dr. Fei Yang of Goshen and a granddaughter and her fiancé, Afton Robinson and Kevin Darrall of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Phil Miller in 1980.
A cremation committal will take place with Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier, IN. A private memorial service will be held in honor of Mrs. Robinson at a later date, with burial to take place at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN.
