Joseph Neal Taylor

Joseph Neal Taylor, age 74, of Ligonier, passed away following a battle with cancer on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at 1:35 p.m.

He was born April 3, 1944, the son of Leland and Cleo (Fausnaugh) Taylor in Noble County. On June 25, 1983, he married Vicki Crossley.

Joseph is survived by his wife of over 35 years, Vicki Taylor of Ligonier; two sons, Brian Taylor and Michael (Julie) Crossley of Ligonier; siblings, Beverly Todd of Albion, Bob Taylor of Cromwell, Harry Taylor and Larry Taylor, both of Albion, and Rick (Yvonne) Taylor of Kimmell; six grandchildren, Alison (Rusty Moore) Trowbridge, Alyssa (Nick) Jahr, Steven Trowbridge, Courtney Crossley, Sam Trowbridge, and Andrew Crossley; three great-grandchildren, Melody Jahr, Joseph Moore and Jack Moore; a son-in-law, Matt Trowbridge; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Sheryl Trowbridge and Steven “Bub” Crossley; and siblings, Sharon Young, Jim Taylor, Ron Taylor and Jerry Taylor.

Joseph graduated from Albion High School in 1963 and served his country honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the Elks and loved his work as an electrician. Joseph retired for the second time from Redman in Topeka, Indiana, in 2013 after 40 years of faithful service. The only thing he loved more than fishing and watching wrestling was being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved to tinker, wood working, being outdoors, and watching deer in the backyard.

A funeral service will be held in Joseph’s honor on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier. Celebrant Larry Baker will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.

Family and friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
