Jonathan E. Gaerte

Jonathan E. Gaerte, age 46, of Wawaka, Indiana, passed away on April 21, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on April 6, 1977 in Goshen, Indiana to Edd and Brenda (Tuvell) Gaerte.

Jonathan graduated from West Noble High School in 1996. He worked at Napa Auto Parts in Ligonier. Jonathan was a member of Fight Club and Praise team at The Crosswalk. He loved sports, music, playing drums and singing. He was a devoted father, son and brother.

Jonathan is survived by his parents, Edd and Brenda Gaerte of Wawaka; children, Delylah Gaerte of Garrett, Nathaniel Gaerte of Garrett; sister, Lori (Todd) Miller of Wawaka; brother, Scott (Lauren) Gaerte of Ligonier; nephews, Tristan Miller of Wawaka, Jack Gaerte of Ligonier; niece, Hannah Gaerte of Ligonier. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Jack (Mary) Gaerte and Dolph (Frances) Tuvell.

A funeral service will be held in Jonathan’s honor at 11 am on Friday, April 28, 2023 at The Crosswalk at United Methodist Church, 466 Townline Road, Ligonier, Indiana 46767. Pastor Jean Ness of United Methodist Church will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 4-8 pm at the The Crosswalk and one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Oak Park Cemetery.
