Jody Stump

JoEtta "Jody" Stump, age 65, of Ligonier, IN passed away on Thursday morning, March 15, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on July 21, 1952 the daughter of Joseph “Joe” W. and Roalice (Wheatley) James in Norton, VA.  On November 27, 1971, she married Sammy K. Stump in Ligonier, IN; he survives.

Also surviving is her son, Jason Stump of Cromwell, IN; a sister Glenna (Jim) Clark of Ligonier; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends; along with her grand-dog, Trooper of Ligonier.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marty Coburn, and a brother Jeffrey “Jeffro” James.

Jody retired from Parker-Hannifin in Goshen after over 30 years of faithful service and was a member of Strong Tower Worship Center in Ligonier. She was a very special lady that loved baking, canning, and was an all around super star in the kitchen. Jody enjoyed being in her rocker on her front porch with her sweetheart Sam, and visiting with locals as they would go by and often stop to chat. More than anything she loved and cherished her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held in Jody’s honor on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 11AM at Strong Tower Worship Center, 502 West Diamond Lake Road, Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Joshua Vargas will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, IN.

Family and friends will be received from 2-8 PM on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Strong Tower Worship Center. Memorial contributions may be directed to Strong Tower Worship Center or the American Diabetes Association.
