Joan M. Burns

Joan M. Burns, age 71, of Millersburg, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at her residence. She was born on August 2, 1953 in LaGrange, Indiana to Jim and Ruth (Lum) Fry. Joan married Stephen Burns on May 11, 1974 in Goshen, Indiana.

Joan is survived by her husband, Stephen Burns of Millersburg; sons; Aaron Burns of Millersburg, Stephen (Megan) Burns of New Paris, Travis (Heidi) Burns of Goshen; grandchildren, Austin, Brenden, Nichole, Molly, Kylor, Alivia, Bella; brother, Kris Sorg of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kirk Sorg.

Joan graduated from Goshen High School in 1972. She worked at Starcraft in Goshen for over 20 years. Joan was an avid member of (CMA) Christian Motorcyclists Association and Community Church of Waterford. She was a cancer survivor and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

A service will be held in Joan’s honor on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 10 am at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana 46767. Pastor Dave Bunyan will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oak Park
Cemetery in Ligonier.
