Jerry Lee Reichard

WAWAKA - Jerry Lee Reichard, age 76 , of Wawaka, IN passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his residence. On January 20, 1942, he was born to Harold and Hilda (Bowman) Reichard in Kendallville, IN. On February 24, 1967, he married Virginia Sprague at Messiah Lutheran Church in Wolcottville, IN.

He is survived by, his wife of 51 years, Virginia Reichard of Wawaka, IN; a daughter, Teresa (Jeff) Lang of Kendallville; son-in-law, Tim Graddy of Fishers, IN; sister, Betty Lemon, of Albion, IN; grandchildren include (his late daughter Michele’s children) Chris, Katie, Olivia, and Jack Graddy, and (Teresa’s children) Alex, Andy, and Spencer Harman.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Harold and Hilda Reichard; a daughter, Michele Graddy, who passed away in 2009; brothers, Neal and Tom Reichard; and sisters, Barbara Lehman, Shirley Nicodemus, and Evelyn Leitch.

Jerry was a lifelong resident of Wawaka and attended the Wawaka School.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, including his seven grandchildren: Chris, Katie, Olivia, Jack, Alex, Andy, and Spencer.  He was an avid gardener and also enjoyed canning vegetables, cooking, and baking.  For many years he enjoyed baking bread and sharing it with family and friends.  He loved hunting and fishing, and teaching his grandsons many of his interests over the years.  Before retirement, he worked several years at Home Crest in Goshen, IN.  He was a member of the South Milford Church of Christ.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 2PM – 4PM and 6PM-8PM at Yeager Funeral Home -1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767.

A Funeral Service in Jerry’s honor will be on Friday, November 16, 2018, at 11AM at the Funeral Home. Pastor Brian Walters will officiate. Burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery following the service.

There will be a time of visitation from 10AM-11AM Friday prior to the service.
