Jerald Wayne Karst

Jerald Wayne Karst, age 70, of Wawaka, IN passed away on August 27, 2020 at Parkview Noble Hospital. He was born on May 14, 1950 the son of William & Doris (Paul) Karst in Huntington, IN. On January 6, 1973 he married Connie Karst; she preceded him in death on April 1, 2012.

He is survived by two daughters, Aleatha (Joe) Meyer of Albion, IN, & Valorie Slaughter of Avilla, IN; 6 grandchildren, Adam Karst, Sausha Slaughter, Teauanna Slaughter, Coleman Meyer, Derrick Meyer and Dillon Meyer; 1 great granddaughter, Emery Karst;  two sisters, Jeanine (Wayne) Garber of Syracuse, IN & Jan Moore of Kimmell, IN and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Jerald served his country honorable in the United States Navy from 1968-1970. He retired from the Indiana Department of Corrections after over 17 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, & historical reenactments.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date. A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center in Ligonier.
