Jeffrey E. Marrs

Jeffrey E. Marrs, age 49, of Knapp Lake passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at home. He was born on February 15, 1971, the son of Ken and Jeanie (Dennis) Marrs in Whitley County, IN. He graduated from West Noble High School in 1989 and attended Vincennes University and Purdue University. Jeff worked at Kinro in Goshen, IN and Dixon Engineering of Lake Odessa, MI. He was a lifetime learner and believed that “knowledge was power.” Jeff was passionate about fishing (to say the least), loved being on the lake, and was a charter member of The “Knapp Lake Yacht Club.”

He is survived by his daughters, Kayla (Jared) Feller of Kendallville, IN and Stormie (Dylan) Mahon of Knapp Lake; grandson, Bentley Mahon; granddaughters, Aliyah Rose Mahon and Everleigh Feller; father, Kenneth (Sharon) Marrs of Kendallville; and a sister, Angela (Chad) Bailey of Avilla; along with nieces and nephews, Ethan, Natalie, and Landon.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanie Marrs on October 20, 2020, and his step-father, Jimmie Dean Hill in 2016.

No public visitation or services are planned at this time. A celebration of Jeff’s life, complete with a cookout, will be held at Knapp Lake later this year.

A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier. Jeff’s ashes will be laid to rest with his mother, Jeanie, at a later date.
