Jeffrey A. Long

Jeffrey A. Long, age 65, of Ligonier, gained his angel wings on Monday, February 10, 2025. He was born on April 9, 1959 in Madison, South Dakota to Edward Long and Norma Jean (Sorensen) Wanless. He married Shelly (Hunt) Long on September 22, 2012 in Wolcottville, Indiana.

Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Shelly Long of Ligonier; son, Chris (Anita) Long of Omaha, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren; brother, Mike Long of Omaha, Nebraska; and sister, Karen (Martin) Maulsby of Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Keith Long.

Jeffrey graduated from Yucaipa High School in Southern California in 1977. At one point, while playing high school football, he led the nation in punting. He was a Mason as well as the chapter head for Noble County Tactical Civics. He was a member of the Sparta Christian Church in Kimmell, Indiana. Jeffrey enjoyed fishing during his free time.

A service will be held in honor of Jeffrey at a later date. Cremation will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
