Janet Eloise Teel

Janet Eloise Teel, age 88, of Cromwell, IN passed away on December 11, 2023 at her home. Janet was born on November 21, 1935 in Charleston, WV to Idine and Eva (Hoover) Copen. On June 21, 1958 in Big Chimney, WV she married David L. Teel.

Janet is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Dooley and Christina (Kevin) Davidsen both of Cromwell; Six grandchildren, Byron (Tonya) Dooley, Syracuse, Anthony Dooley, Columbia City, Gary (Acacia) Teel, Osceola, Justin Teel, Warsaw, Craig (Mary) Davidsen, Cromwell, and Rachel (Stefan) Cook, Ft. Wayne; 16 great-grandchildren;  4 great great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Patricia Shepherd of Ligonier and Annis Walker of West Virginia, along with many nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2001; a son David W Teel in 2016; and siblings, James Hoover, Carl Copen, Kenneth Pauley, Harrison Pauley, and Emogene Meadows.

Janet retired from Silgan Plastics (Monsanto) Ligonier in 1998 after 27 years of service. She was a member of Stone’s Hill Community Church. After her retirement, Janet enjoyed spending time with her family and volunteering at her church and local food banks. She enjoyed quilting, taking road trip vacations, and working jigsaw puzzles.  Janet also enjoyed watching sports. She was a Ryan Newman fan, a Yankees and Reds fan, and Colts and Cowboys fan.

A funeral service will be held in her honor at 10 am on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana 46767. Pastor Joey Nelson will officiate. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell.

Family and friends will be received from 3-8 pm on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Yeager Funeral Home.
