James Jay Rose

James (Jim) Jay Rose, age 75, of Wawaka, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 at his residence. He was born on June 26, 1949 to John and Vera (Wysong) Rose in Wawaka, Indiana. He married Kay E. Maxson on June 20, 1970 in Cosperville.

James is survived by his wife, Kay Rose of Wawaka; children, Dawn M. Hurley of Fort Wayne, Brent J. (Jennifer) Rose of Wawaka, Bradley J. (Joleen) Rose of Wawaka; grandchildren, Kaleb (Taylor) Ballard, Kyle (Natasha) Ballard, Christoper (Haley) Ballard, Bailey Rose, Lyndsay Rose,
Molly Rose, Jade Rose, Katrina Rose, Johnathan Rose, Katharine Rose; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Tom (Joy) Rose of Albion, Mary (Charlie) Mills of Warsaw, Elizabeth (Jim) Glasson of Silver Lake and 16 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Vera
Rose and a brother and Sister-in-Law, Mark & Beth Rose.

James proudly served in the U.S. Army enlisting in 1969 and was stationed in Alaska. He was a member of the American Legion in Ligonier and Rome City Post # 381. James was a former West Noble School Board Member, 4-H Tractor Driver Leader, 10 year 4-H member and winner
of the National Tractor Driving Competition. He enjoyed: teasing his wife, golfing, fishing at “lost my pole lake” with his grandson and Gas and Steam of Noble County. He enjoyed farming, Purdue Football and Basketball, bowling, collecting toy tractors, playing "puppy" with his
granddaughter. James loved spending time with friends, family and especially his grandchildren.

A gathering of friends and family in honor of James will be on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 2-6pm at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana 46767. Military Honors will be performed at 4pm. Cremation will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance
Center in Ligonier. Memorial contributions may be directed to Wounded Warriors, 230 W Monroe St., Suite 200, Chicago, IL 60606 and American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD, 2174.
