Syracuse- James E. ”Jim” Lough, age 96, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Warsaw Meadows in Warsaw, Indiana. He was born in Angola, Indiana on July 17, 1921 to Coy O. and Martha (Pollock) Lough.
On September 12, 1944, he married Virginia J. Hicks in Indianapolis, Indiana. They lived in several locations before making their final home on Lake Papakeechie. Jim worked for the South Bend Bait and Tackle Company for 16 years retiring as V.P of Sales. He loved fishing and traveling with his wife.
He served his country state side as a 2nd Lieutenant Pilot Instructor in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a member of Grace Bible Baptist Church in New Paris, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, parents, brothers, John M. Lough, Robert Norwood Lough and sister Marguerite Avonelle Lough.
Survivors include a sister, Marilyn J. Pattinson of Boca Raton, Florida; Sons, Mark Lough of Onekama, Michigan, Jeff (Debrah) Lough of Dayton, Ohio, and John (Jo) Lough of Greenbank, Washington; six Grandchildren; and nine Great Grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 2 PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Mike Gross will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, Indiana.
Family and friends will be received from 11am – 2PM prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
