Jack Roher

Jack Roher, 72, of Ligonier, IN, passed away at 11:05 AM on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Avalon Village in Ligonier. He was born on August 14, 1945 to David and Eunice (Hill) Roher in Noble County, IN. On September 7, 1974 Jack married Susan Case in KImmell, IN; she survives.

Also, surviving are his sons, James (Jessica and her daughter, Riley) Roher of Ligonier, IN and Joseph Roher of LaGrange, IN; and one sister, Connie Weber of Wolcottville, IN. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and several friends.

Jack honorably served his country in the United States Army as part of the 82nd Airborne Division and was a Bronze Star recipient. He was a member of the American Legion Post 243 in Ligonier and had retired from Reith & Riley Construction after 37 years of dedicated service. In retirement Jack enjoyed spending time at the local coffee shops, motorcycling, and cruising in his corvette. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A funeral service will be held in Jack’s honor at 12 noon on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Jean Ness will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier. Family and friends will be received from 4-7 PM on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Yeager Funeral Home.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s honor to Goshen Home Care and Hospice, 1721 South Main Street; Goshen, IN 46526. Jack’s family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to those who cared for Jack through Hospice and to the Nurses and aids at Avalon Village.
