Ira Allen Walter

Ira Allen Walter, 84, of Wolcottville, IN passed away on October 7, 2021 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. He was born July 29, 1937 to Ferry and Pearl (Duton) Walter in LaGrange, IN.

Ira was a hard worker his entire life and held numerous jobs - from working at a steel foundry to traveling with a carnival setting up rides. Most of all, he loved working at the junkyard, which he did for many years. When Ira wasn’t tinkering on one of his cars, he enjoyed fishing and telling great stories.

Ira is survived by eleven children, Marie, Nicole, Casey, Carl, Daniel, Ruth, Allen, Rosalie, Sherry, Carrie Jo, and Tim. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center. A celebration of Ira’s life will be held at a later date.
