Homer Ray Reeve, age 85, of Ligonier passed away Friday, June 14, 2024 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. He was born on October 11, 1938 to Charles W. and Althea (Fausnaugh) Reeve in Noble County. Homer married Norma J. Patton in Goshen on September 5, 1959.
Homer honorably served his country as a soldier in the US Army from 1957 to 1959. He went on to work for Silgan Plastics for many years as a supervisor, retiring in 1993. Homer enjoyed collecting antiques, especially lanterns and oil lamps. He’d often find old furniture to refinish, making it beautiful again. Homer liked hunting, ice fishing, and traveling whenever he had the chance. Most days, he could be seen at the coffee shop with the guys or just enjoying time with his family.
Homer is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Norma Reeve of Ligonier; three daughters, Shelly (Kerry) Keck of Wawaka, Tracy (Bob) Tinkey of Syracuse, and Jodie (Ray) Folk of Topeka; seven grandchildren, Kyle (Whitney) Keck, Kasey (Brandon) Hindenlang, Renae (Nathanael) Whinery, Megan (Travis) Gow, Emily (Doug) McDonald, Thomas (Janelle) Folk, and Aaron (Alyssa) Folk; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Leland Reeve, Art Reeve, Verlin Reeve, Marlene Knox, and Rose Reeve; and a grandson, Mickey Grinager.
A funeral in honor of Homer will be held at 5 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S, Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Peter Meneghello will officiate and burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
Friends and family will be received from 11 AM to 1 PM and 3 PM to 5 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at the funeral home. A masonic ceremony will take place at the beginning of the 5pm service.
