Hector Torres Gamez, age 64, of Ligonier, IN passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 8, 1955 the son of Marcial and Maria (Gamez) Torres in Aguascalientes, Mexico. On December 7, 1974 he married Martha Flores; she survives.

Other survivors include, his mother, Maria Torres Gamez; four children, Adriana Torres, Susana Torres, Elizabeth Torres, Dianna Janet Torres; six grandchildren, Victor, Arely, Maite, Jobani, Hector, and Natalie; and a great-grandson, Ivan; 12 siblings, Yolanda, Jose, Salomon, Efrain, Guillermina, Pedro, Lilia, Rene, Dagoberto, Lourdes, and Marcial.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Guadalupe Torres; and his father, Marcial Torres.

Hector retired from Pallet One in Shipshewana, IN after over 30 years of faithful service and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ligonier, IN. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was a talented handyman. Most of all, Hector was a devoted and loving family man.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3pm on Friday, February 7, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 300 Ravine Park Drive, Ligonier, IN 46767. Father Wilson Corzo will officiate. A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center in Ligonier.

A wake will be held at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767 beginning at 2pm on Thursday February 6, 2020, and continuing until the time of the service on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude’s children’s Hospital.
