Obituary

Gloria Jean Fought, 84, of Ligonier, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Waterford Crossing Health Campus in Goshen.

She was born on June 12, 1942 to the late Russell and Lillian (Fowler) Patton.

Gloria was a 1960 graduate of Ligonier High School.

On June 17, 1960, she married the love of her life, Richard Eugene Fought. Together they faced every season of life with love and compassion until Richard’s passing in 2022.

Gloria was a devoted farm wife, helping Richard to run the family farm and raise their family.

In her free time, Gloria enjoyed making blue jean baby blankets, bowling, her weekly hair appointment, and getting together with her coffee group at Tiffany’s Coffee Shop. Earlier in life, Gloria was a Bee Line Clothing Rep.

She is survived by her children, Jed (Kathy) Fought, Terri (Gregg) Cunningham, Jim (Shauna) Fought, Randy (Kelly) Fought, and Jenny (Gene) Miller; grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan, Joel, Riley, Morgan, Lyle, Brook, Olivia, Parker, Ashley, and Logan; great-grandchildren, Kate, Mary, Rachel, Teresa, Mark, Leo, Whitaker, Karleigh, Jameson, Ozzie, Ziggy, Lee, Drew, Sawyer, Sutton, Lainey, Laken, Morrison, and Althea; siblings, Norma Reeve, and Joe (Stella) Patton; and brothers-in-law, Bob Hart and Frank (Judy) Fought.

Also preceding her in death were daughter-in-law, Shawn Fought, grandson, Alex; and sister, Carolyn Hart.

A Memorial Service celebrating Gloria’s Life will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 4 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier, with a Memorial Calling from 1 p.m. until the start of the service at 4 p.m. Burial will follow at a later date at Eden Cemetery
