Gladys L. Hollis, age 68, of Three Oaks, MI went home to Jesus on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph, MI. She was born December 29, 1952 the daughter of Billy and Frances Lacy in Little Rock, AR. On May 28, 1978, she married John Hollis at First Apostolic Church in Bridgman, MI.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, John Hollis; step-father, Ron Ellsworth of Baroda, MI; three step-children, Theresa (Alex) Porter of Grand Rapids, MI, Tim (Beth) Hollis of Elkhart, IN, and Tom (Kay) Hollis of Granger, IN; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Felicia ( Steve) Beasley of Niles, MI; two brothers, Bill (Theresa) Villa of Niles, MI and Mark (Marivic) Villa of the Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; along with two fur babies, William Ryker, and Deanna Troy. She was preceded in death by her mother Frances Ellsworth; a sister, Paula Quinn; and recently a fur baby, Christian Picard.
Gladys was a member of First Apostolic Church in Bridgman, MI where she played the piano and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She loved singing music for The Lord and enjoyed all kinds of music with her favorite being gospel music. Throughout her life she held an unwavering faith in God and shared it freely with those who surrounded her. Gladys was a wonderful wife, a loving step-mother, devoted homemaker, friend to strangers, and full of compassion and empathy for all. She was very close with her nieces and nephews and was always the aunt with the biggest Christmas gifts. Gladys also loved going to Disney and in her latter years enjoyed making crafts at her home.
A funeral service will be held in Gladys’ honor on Saturday December 4, 2021 at 2pm at First Apostolic Church,10914 California Rd, Sawyer, MI 49125. Pastors Denzil Walters, Robert Hamilton, and Wade Blankenship will officiate. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Three Oaks, MI. A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
