George Campbell

George W. Campbell, age 85, of Goshen, Indiana passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at home. He was born on April 19, 1939 the son of George W. Campbell and Erma W. Roe in Kendallville, Indiana. George graduated from Wolf Lake High School in 1957 and served 3 years in the 25th Infantry of the Army.  He retired from Dana Corporation in Syracuse, Indiana after 38 years of employment. George was an avid fisherman whether in the boat or on the ice.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jane Campbell of Goshen; a son, Brett (Ann) Campbell of Elkhart; a daughter, Lauri (Chris) Dresch of Las Vegas, Nevada; a stepdaughter, Amy Stark of Queen Creek, AZ; a brother, Jim (Dorothy) Campbell of Kemp, Texas; and a sister, Phyllis Burnworth of  Columbia City; six grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred Campbell, Harold Campbell, and Bill Hummel; along with one sister, Shirley Hummel.

A funeral service will be held for George at 3pm on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Yeager Funeral Home; 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Bo Lutton will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, Indiana.

Family and friends will be received from 1-3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
