Genevieve "Genny" Mclallin

Genevieve “Genny” McLallin, age 87, of Kimmell, IN passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 6:05 AM at North Ridge Village, Albion, IN. She was born on October 23, 1930 the daughter of Herbert and Maxine (Haverty) Johnson in College Corner, IN. On January 19, 1952 she married Lewis J. McLallin.

Genny was a member of Wolf Lake Baptist Church for over 70 years and was a licensed insurance and real estate agent. She worked for Wirk Garment  and later for Carson, Edwards, and McLallin Insurance for many years. She eventually purchased the business, at which time the business became known as Wolf Lake Insurance. Genny continued in the business with her daughter, Kay until her retirement. She loved to travel, quilt, play games, and was an avid reader.  Above all else, Genny was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Lewis J. McLallin of Kimmell, IN; three daughters, Carol (Gary) Seitz of The Villages, FL, Peggy (Daryl) Daniels of Syracuse, IN, and Karen (Roger) Stahly of Kimmell, IN; five grandchildren, Mike (Brandi) Edsall of Kimmell, IN, Angie (Brad) Franklin of Kimmell, IN, Leah (Edward) Payne of Niles, IL, Kevin (Kathryn) Seitz of Lancaster, OH, and Kari (Brad) Stabler of Ligonier, IN; ten great-grandchildren; along with a sister, Norma (Dick) Young of Sarasota, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kay Edsall; a grandson; and a brother, Richard Johnson.

A funeral service will be held in Genny’s honor at Wolf Lake Baptist Church on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 2 PM. Pastor Dan Carlson will officiate. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN.

Family and friends will be received from 3-7 PM on Saturday September 15, 2018 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767.
