Franklin "Earl" Christlieb

Franklin “Earl” Christlieb, age 77 , of Elkhart, IN passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, IN. He was born on November 21, 1940 in Churubusco, IN the son of Frank R. and Permela Mae(Ostrander) Christlieb. On May 16, 1961, in Wawaka, IN he married Sally A. Swartz; she has since passed away on May, 21 2017.

He is survived by his children, Chuck (Tammy) Christlieb, of White Pigeon, MI, Joe Christlieb of Elkhart, IN and Veronica Christlieb of Niles, MI; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three sisters, Pat Heintzelman of Ligonier, IN, Mary (Clyde) Conn of Kimmell, IN, and Sandy Lawson of Gunlock, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children; Timothy Lee Christlieb, Rhonda Elbert, and his brother, Jerry Christlieb.

Earl had a big heart.  He enjoyed the work he did during his time at the various R.V. Factories.  Recently he helped transporting seniors to the various appointments that they held.  His first smart phone started as a terror, but he quickly learned how to use it and liked it very much.  Spending time with his family and playing pool on three different pool leagues is how he liked to spend his free time.  His membership status with the APA – American Pool Association was put to good use.  Their family dog, Jack really held a special place with Earl, along with the many grand and great-grandchildren.  Everyone will most definitely miss the smile and quick wit he always carried with him.

To honor Earl’s final wishes, family and friends will be able to gather on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Yeager Funeral Home – 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767 from 4PM – 8PM.

Burial will follow at a later date at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, IN.
