Florence Elizabeth Thompson

March 4, 1951 — April 5, 2025

Florence Elizabeth "Betty" Thompson, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away on the 5th of April, 2025, at the age of 74, in Wawaka, Indiana. Born on March 4th, 1951, in English, West Virginia, to the late Virgil Christian and Virginia (Taylor) Keene. Betty was a loving sister to Roy Christian and five cherished half-siblings.

Betty leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication epitomized by her devoted husband, Barry Thompson, her adoring daughter Tina Carter-Smith, and her three sons, Wade, Chris (Heather), and Mitch (Carrie) Thompson. Her seven grandchildren, Niqole Carter, Cory Davidsen, Seth Kime, Nicholas Thompson, Bailey Thompson, Taylor Thompson, and Sydnee Thompson, and five great-grandchildren, Kael Evans, Camden Kime, Alayna Kime, Rhylee Davidsen, and Bryant Davidsen, will forever carry the memory of her unconditional love and the joy she brought into their lives. She is proceeded in death by her parents, two grandchildren Anthony Carter and Vance Thompson, and mother-in-law Barbara Lehman.

Betty's heart was large enough to encompass not only her immediate family but also her friends and colleagues with whom she shared her life. Her professional journey in production and manufacturing was marked by the same passion and commitment she put into everything she did.

Betty's days were spent surrounded by the natural beauty she cherished deeply, from tending to her beloved flower garden to observing the delicate dance of hummingbirds and butterflies. Her devotion to her faith was evident in her daily practices of reading devotions and prayer, reflecting her inner strength and tranquility. A lover of life's simpler pleasures, Betty found joy in the art of doing her nails, adding a touch of elegance to her
every day. Above all, her heart was most full when enveloped in the company of her family, for whom she was a beacon of love and unwavering support.

Described as loving, kind, and passionate, Betty touched the lives of everyone around her. Her influence and presence will be missed but never forgotten. As we remember Betty, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life brimming with care for her family and unwavering dedication to her work. Betty's spirit will forever inspire those who were lucky enough to know her.
