Ervin "Hank" H. Blanchard

GOSHEN — Ervin “Hank” H. Blanchard, 88, of Goshen, IN, formerly of Ligonier, IN, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017, at 1:40p.m. at Goshen Hospital surrounded by family in Goshen. He was born on August 8, 1928, to Mervin W. and Tora C. (Hull) in Collins, IN. On October 8, 1948, Hank married Esther Lawson in Kimmell, IN.  They spent 50 years together prior to her passing away in 1999.

Hank had quite a lot of interests in his lifetime.  After moving to Ligonier in 1955, he spent over 40 years living in Noble County.  Upon moving to Goshen, he really cherished the friends he made while living at the Willows.   He worked for 43 years as an office manager at Lyon & Greenleaf/Star of the West in Ligonier.  In his earlier years he really enjoyed bowling and was a good fisherman.  He liked to frequent garage sales and spend as much time as he could with his grandchildren.  Missy the cat was a true companion to Hank.  Ligonier was Hank’s home.  So many will miss the memories they have created with him.

Surviving are his two sons, David (Marvena Kay) Blanchard, of Maumee, OH and Jerry Blanchard, of Goshen, IN, two grandchildren; Kimberly Blanchard - Hughes and Joseph Blanchard and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Blanchard was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Esther Blanchard and his late second wife, of 10 years, Jolene (Gross) Blanchard in 2013 along with his siblings, Norma Jean and Walter Blanchard.

A funeral service will be held in Hank’s honor on Monday, July 24, 2017, at 7p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN, 46767. Brother Mike McDonald will officiate. Private burial will take place at a later date at Sparta Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 3p.m. to 7p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Yeager Funeral Home.
