Ermon Whitehead

Ermon W. Whitehead, age 76, of Kimmell, Indiana went to be with The Lord on Tuesday morning, August 27, 2024. He was born on July 4, 1948 the son of Charlie Owens and Frances Mildred (Rigney) Whitehead in Barrier, Kentucky.

On September 5, 1970, he married his sweetheart, Brenda Whitehead on her birthday in Tennessee.

Ermon retired as a Towmotor driver from Smokercraft in New Paris, Indiana after 42 years of faithful service.  He loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening and biking. Ermon especially enjoyed camping, and did so often over the years with his wife. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it and he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 54 years, Brenda Whitehead of Kimmell, Indiana; four siblings, Mary Burnette of Monticello, Kentucky, Irene (John) Dotson Gainesville, Florida, Connie Z. (Max) Burkett, and Johnny Whitehead of Monticello, Kentucky; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister, Josephine Whitehead.

In keeping with Ermon’s wishes, no public visitation or services are planned. Burial will take place in Kentucky at a later date.
