Emma S. Hochstetler

Emma S. Hochstetler, age 97, of 5325 W 700 S, Topeka, IN died March 9, 2018 at her residence. She was born on July 24, 1920 in LaGrange County to Samuel A. and Edna J. (Yoder) Schlabach. She was married January 23, 1941 to Harry C. Hochstetler. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2004. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving are two children. A daughter, Liz (Harley) Miller of Topeka, IN and a son, Ira Lee (Rose) Hochstetler of Wolcottville, IN; 5 grandsons, Ferman (Rachel) Miller, Marion (Malinda) Miller, David (Doris) Hochstetler, Kenny (Leona) Hochstetler, and Marlin (Barbara) Hochstetler; five granddaughters, Christina (Dave) Yoder, Susan (Glen) Bontrager, Ruth (Loren) Yoder, Lisa (Lamar) Yoder, and Jolene Hochstetler; 38 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ervin S. Schlabach of Shipshewana, IN; four sisters, Elizabeth Bender, Edna Mast, Mattie Mullet, and Katie (Felty) Fry all of Topeka, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a stillborn great-grandson; four sisters, Susan (Will) Stutzman, Fanny (Chris) Christner, Ida Mae and Wilma; a sister-in-law, Fannie Schlabach; three brother-in-laws, Elmer Bender, John Mast, and Ira Mullet; along with her step-mother, Elnora Schlabach.

Friends may call after 1 pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018, and also after 1PM on Sunday March 11, 2018 at Clarence J. Miller residence, 5295 W 700 S, Topeka, IN 46571.

A funeral service will begin at 9 AM on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the same place. Bishop Dan Yoder and the Home Ministers will officiate. Burial will take place at Miller Cemetery in LaGrange. Pall Bearers will be Richard Miller, William Beechy, Harley Yoder, and Gerald Yoder.
