Elodia Rodriguez De Verdoza

Elodia Rodriguez De Verdoza, age 95, of San Luis de Custique, Tabasco Zacatecas, Mexico, passed away at 2:38 am on October 24, 2022 at home with her family in Ligonier, Indiana. She was born on March 16, 1927, the daughter of Francisco Rodriguez and Ramona Murillo in Huiscolco, Tabasco, Zacatecas, Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Jesus Verdoza Lopez in 2011.

Elodia enjoyed cooking, bird watching, and loved to talk with her family and friends. She had many interesting and fun stories to share from her long life. She was also a member of the Catholic Church.

Elodia is survived by eight children, Maria Elena Gomez, Luis Verdoza, Yolanda Sandoval, Jesus Verdoza, Brigido Verdoza, Lila Verdoza, Hildeliza Rivera, Fernando Verdoza, and Rosalba Rodriguez; 28 grandchildren; many many great-grandchildren; and three sisters.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; four siblings; and a daughter, Rosalba Verdoza.

Family and friends will be received from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Burial will take place at her hometown in Mexico.
