Duane O. Leathers

Duane O. Leathers, age 70, of Ligonier, Indiana passed away on May 24, 2023 in Corunna, Indiana. He was born on November 9, 1952 in Lansing, Michigan to William and Georgia (Challender) Leathers.  He married Leaetta Patches in 1984 in Ligonier, Indiana.  She passed away on November 23, 2021.

Duane is survived by his daughter, Wendy; many step-children and grandchildren; siblings, Roy (Lee) Leathers of Hudson, MI, Louan Chaffe of Corunna, IN, Paul (Patti) Leathers of Rome City, IN,  and Rex (Robbie) Leathers of Morenci, MI.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Leathers and sister, Brenda Rogers.

Duane graduated from East Noble High School in 1971. He retired from Silgan Plastics after working there 42 years. Duane loved hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking.

A funeral service will be held in Duane’s honor at 4 pm on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana 46767. Family and friends will be received two hours prior to the funeral at the funeral home.  A cremation committal will follow the service at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier.
