Douglas Loren “Ox” Norment Jr., age 59, of Wolcottville, IN passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at home. He was born January 23, 1958 the son of Douglas L. and Beverly Ann Grossman Norment Sr. in Elkhart, IN. On May 6, 1995 he married Carol Guiff at Stone’s Trace in Ligonier, IN; she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Madison Mae Norment and Tenley Rose Norment, both of Wolcotville, IN; a grandson, Emmett Michael Norment at home; his mother, Beverly Reynolds of Wolcottville, IN; and four siblings, brother, Timothy A. Norment, of Wolcottville, IN; sister, Dawn Reynolds, of Wolcottville, IN; and brothers; William J. Reynolds, of Kendallville, IN and Jeff Olry of Fort Wayne, IN.
Ox worked for Dalton Foundry in Kendallville for over 17 years and loved cooking for large groups, cruises ins, and riding motorcycles. He was a member of Route 30 cruisers, and a past member of Bounty Hunters of Albion. He was also an avid shooter and loved sporting clays. Ox also catered for many occasions.
A cremation committal will take place with Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier, IN. A memorial service will be held in honor of Ox on Sunday, August 13 , 2017 at 3PM at Yeager Funeral Home — 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Wade Sturdavint will officiate. Family and friends may call upon the funeral home from 12PM-3PM prior to the service on Sunday, August 13, 2017.
