Don C. Dodds

Don Curtis Dodds, age 69, of Ligonier, IN, passed away unexpectedly at the Parkview Regional Hospital on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. He was born in Goshen, IN on July 28, 1947, the son of Horton C. and Lois Dodds. On May 25, 1973 Don married Rita Blue; she surrives.

He is survived by his son, Paul Dodds of Nashville, TN, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by Paul’s twin, Phillip Dodds, brother Steven C. Dodds and his parents, H.C. and Lois Dodds.

Don was a man of many talents.  Not only did he live around the world with his parents and brother, he also took the opportunities to travel with his own family.  He was a hardworking man that owned and operated his own semi-truck for many years.  Don served his country faithfully in the United States Army, and finished a program that allowed him to be a Professional Class A golf instructor.  Don held the record of having the lowest score of 63 played at the South Shore Golf Club in Syracuse, IN for many years.  His passion for golf and helping others with their game spread quickly.  Everyone wanted his help and listened to his expertise on how to improve their game.  He simply loved life and all who were able to enjoy it with him.  From his eclectic taste in music, to his adoration for family pets, Don truly was able to create memories with his family and friends.  They will also remember his interest in things water or lake related.

In keeping with his wishes, no public visitation or funeral services were planned. A cremation committal has taken place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center in Ligonier, IN. A celebration of Don’s life will take place on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 1PM-4PM at the Syracuse Community Center – 1013 North Long Dr. Syracuse, IN 46567.
