We would like to inform everyone of an offer Delcie E. Morrow, age 78, of Norwalk, OH, couldn’t refuse, for a permanent position working for God. Her new position comes with an amazing sign on bonus- A reunion with family and friends she hasn’t seen in a long time. Her new position allows her as much time as she needs for painting, crafting, doing crosswords and word searches, coloring, geocaching, cooking, and always looking out for those she loved. She loved taking care of everyone. She would give you the shirt from her back. If she had to, she would go without.
Delcie was a master cook in the kitchen. The smells of meat & potatoes cooking would bring any family home. Sometimes she didn’t even have to call us to say dinner was done, she let the smoke alarm tell us.
For many years she was a boy scout leader for her son’s boy scout troop. When her daughter joined girl scouts, she became a girl scout leader.
Delcie made many friends over the years while working at Essex Wire, Ligonier Rubber & Pinkerton Security. She was a lifelong area resident living in Ligonier, Cromwell, Topeka, Angola, and Norwalk, OH.
The new assignment she accepted allows her to see all the loved ones who accepted the assignment before her; parents, Paul & Evelyn Frankfather; brother, John Frankfather; and father of her son, Willis Fields.
Those of us left behind to pay our taxes of heartache and tears, full of many fond memories are her son, Phillip Fields & Alice Williams of Angola; daughter, Evelyn & Brent Ackerman of Topeka; Percy Morrow of Topeka; grandchildren, Cora Ackerman & Malcolm Morrison of Topeka, Tamara Ackerman of Kimmell, Nikkitta Williams of Angola, Victoria-Sue Cook of Orland; great-grandchildren, Jessa and Jacoby Bates, Audra Davis; nephew, Christopher Weis & family; along with lifelong family friends, Cynthia Hickman of Ohio, Jeff and Sue Hickman, Jim Hickman and Family, Glenn Hickman, Max Hickman, David Brown & Judy Starbuck of Ontario, Canada.
There will be a funeral service held in Delcie’s honor on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Harold Gingerich will officiate. Burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery in Merriam.
