Curtis D. Martin

WAWAKA – Curtis Dale Martin , age 49, of Wawaka, IN passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at his home in Wawaka, IN.  He was born on April 22, 1969 in Goshen, IN the son of William C. & Beverly A. (Kaser) Martin.

He is survived by his father, William “Bill” Martin; sister, Mary Ellen Martin; brother, Charles Lewis Martin; and his uncle; Vernon Kaser, all of Wawaka, IN.  He also leaves behind very dear family friends, Annabelle Hoskins and Don Hoskins of Ligonier, IN.

He was preceded in death by his mother; Beverly Martin in 2017 and uncle, William “Bill” Kaser in 2009.

Curtis was a 1988 graduate of West Noble High School.  He loved to make people laugh and smile and always took care of his family.  Helping others was a part of his daily routine.  Even when he was a young boy, he helped in and around the family floral shop that both his Mother, and Uncle ran.  Packing up his sister, Mary Ellen, and brother, Chuck to zip them around town and take them out to eat will be memories that family will always share about him.  Technology was his passion and he always was helping and working on people’s computers.  He worked for 20 years at the Fairmont Company in Nappanee, IN.  Recently he began working for Champion Homes in Topeka, IN.  Outside of work, you would always catch Curtis with a smile on his face and enjoying anything to do with NASCAR or trains.  Curtis will be missed by so many of those who loved and adored him.

A funeral service will be held in Curtis’s honor on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 2PM at Yeager Funeral Home , 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor John Lutton will officiate. Burial will take place at Cosperville Cemetery in Wawaka, IN following the service.

Family and friends will be received from 11AM-2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Curtis’s honor may be directed to Riley Children’s Hospital - 705 Riley Hospital Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
