Clara Robinson

Clara Robinson, age 77 , passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at her home surrounded by family in Elkhart, IN. She was born on December 23, 1940 in Bulan, KY to Robert and Geneva (Allen) Miller.

Clara did different things throughout her life but spent 35 years working for Silgan Plastics as a union steward.  When she moved to the Noble County area, she was a Welcome Wagon Hostess in Kimmell.  Some of her hobbies included traveling to the west coast, shopping, playing bingo, eating out at many restaurants, crossword puzzles, collecting elephant figurines, and watching old western programs on the television.  She was a member of the praise worship team at the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Kimmell, IN, Red Hat Club in Goshen, IN and a C.A.S.A. member of Noble County, IN.  Clara loved all her grandchildren so much and was very proud of their accomplishments. She enjoyed creating memories with each and every one of her family members.  She will truly be missed by everyone around her.

She is survived by her loving children, Sherman Jr. (Terrie) Robinson, Vickie Bortner along with her significant other, Mark Nolan, Walter (Candy) Robinson; 11 grandchildren, Mark (Ashley) Borders, Joshua (Eva) Borders, Andrew (Abby) Borders, Joshua Bortner, Chad (Erica) Bortner, Jamie (Andrew) Dean, E. Nicole (Rich) Cline, Adam Lee (Taylor) Robinson, Brandon Robinson, Holly (Mike) Ressler, Brittany (Jesse) Gordon, 19 great-grandchildren; “Izzie” the lap dog; and three siblings, Arnold Miller, Rachel Brewer, and John (Jewel) Miller.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Sherman Robinson Sr.; parents, Robert and Geneva Miller, daughter; Nancy Mills, and five siblings.

A memorial service will be held in Clara’s honor on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10AM at Yeager Funeral Home – 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN 46767. Rev. Timothy Lee will be officiating . Burial will be held at a later date at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN.
