Christopher Jon Hoover

Christopher Jon Hoover, age 53, of Topeka, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Goshen General Hospital. He was born on June 6, 1969 the son of  Sandra Lou (McMillan) and Wilbur Roy Hoover in Gary, IN.

Chris graduated from Portage High School in 1987. He worked for Hoosier Fire Equipment in Valparaiso, Indiana for many years. Chris was an automobile enthusiast and loved Mustangs. He always enjoyed listening to music and working on cars. If Chris was able to help someone out he would. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by three children, Lauren, Brianna, and Jacob; five grandchildren; his parents, Wilbur Roy and Sandra Lou Hoover of Topeka, IN; and siblings, Daniel (Soraya) Young, Rhonda (Edward) Ortiz, Lori (Daniel) Rulong, and Shawn Young. He was preceded in death by his best friend and beloved dog, Buddy. Chris will be greatly missed, but is now united in heaven with Buddy.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Christopher’s life on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at his parent’s home, 217 Todd Street, Topeka, IN 46571 from 12-3 pm. Cremation will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center in Ligonier.
