Christena Schrock, age 89, of Ligonier passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Greencroft Healthcare Center in Goshen, IN. She was born at home near Goshen on February 23, 1936 to Levi and Ida Mae (Miller) Schrock. Christena attended Clinton Christian school. She was a co-owner of the Village Inn Restaurant for many years.

On May 2, 1981, in Middlebury, IN she married Orval Schrock, he passed away in 2005. Orval was a grain farmer and Christena helped Orval with the farm work. At one time, they built a bakery in their home and made homemade whole wheat bread which they sold to local grocery stores and markets. Christena enjoyed cooking and having company in her home for meals. She and Orval had many family members and friends in their home on a regular basis. A big joy in her life was being a grandmother to their 9 grandchildren. She and Orval frequently had grandchildren in their home for overnight visits or for special trips or just to play together on the farm. She loved to sew and made quilts for each grandchild. She taught some of them how to sew and how to make homemade noodles. She loved the Lord and accepted Jesus as her Savior at a young age. She served as an elder when she attended New Life Christian Center. She was currently attending Noble County Community Church in Ligonier, IN. She and Orval also loved to travel. They took many trips on their own. They took the whole family to Israel to tour the Holy Land. They planned yearly reunions, most often at Camp Amigo in Sturgis, MI.
