Celina "China" Rivera Hernandez

Celina “China” Rivera Hernandez, age 49, of LaGrange, Indiana passed away following a brief illness at Parkview LaGrange Hospital on Friday, April 5, 2024. She was born on February 17, 1975 the daughter of Jesus Rivera Valasco Maria De Los Angeles (Garcia) Rivera in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico.

China is survived by Three sons, Samuel Avila Rivera of Mexico and Abraham Avila Rivera of Albion, Indiana, and Issac Avila Rivera of Kimmell, Indiana; her companion, Arturo Mauricio of LaGrange, Indiana; grandchildren, Abraham Japhet Avila Cruz, Ariadna Avila Garcia, David Cruz Avila, and Amado Martinez;  Siblings, Luis Rivera, Juan Rivera, Miguel Angel Rivera, Martina Rivera, Zoila Rivera, Irma Rivera, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Lizett Rivera.

China worked for Mastercraft in LaGrange for 16 years. She  loved dancing and spending time with her grandchildren. China also enjoyed shopping, cookouts, and gardening.

Family and friends will be received from 1-3 pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.
