Catheleen A Hayes

Catheleen A. Hayes, age 100, of Ligonier, IN passed away at 8:25 am on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Avalon Village in Ligonier, IN. She was born on November 15, 1919 the daughter of Roy Stroman and Hazel (Schick) Stroman in Helmer, IN. She married Gerald Hayes in 1939.  He passed away on August 19, 1999.

Catheleen is survived by her niece, Dee Ann (Jim) Mehl of Ligonier.  She is preceded in death by her husband and parents

She owned and operated Miller-Jones Shoe Store for over 30 years.  Catheleen also worked along with her husband as the Noble County Trustee's for many years and was a member of the Ligonier American Legion Auxiliary.

Catheleen loved knitting and enjoyed sharing her prized passion with children.  She will be remembered for helping the school kids stay warm with her homemade hats and mittens.

A graveside service will be held in Catheleen's honor at 2 pm on Friday September 25, 2020 at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier. Pastor Bruce Moyer of Ligonier Evangelical Church will officiate.
