Carol Stults

Carol Ann Stults, a beacon of service and kindness, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, in Ligonier, Indiana, surrounded by her family. She was 85.

Born on May 26, 1940, in Merriam, Indiana, Carol was the daughter of the late George and Althea (Addis) Stults. She was a graduate of Cromwell High School’s Class of 1959 and had a career of 41 years as a dedicated factory worker at Silgan Plastics in Ligonier.

Carol's life was defined by her gentle spirit, unwavering optimism, and service to those around her. She loved serving the community through the Cromwell-Kimmell Lions Club holding various positions in the organization. Carol especially cherished mentoring young Leo’s and watching them grow in their service to the community. Through the years, she served the Cromwell Alumni Association in various capacities ensuring returning alumni had a great experience. Carol had a great work ethic and her heart was always open to others — qualities that endeared her to coworkers, friends, and family alike.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Lois Madden; her nephews, David (Judy) Madden and Terry (Denise) Madden; great-nieces, Janie (Jared) Latimer and Kate Madden; her great-nephew, Jason Madden; and her great-great-nephew, Jensen Latimer. Carol’s legacy of warmth, service, and quiet leadership lives on through them. Carol Ann Stults will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 11a.m., at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier, IN 46767. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Sparta Cemetery.
