Beverly L. Grove

Beverly L. Grove, 94, of Waterloo, Indiana, passed away on June 8, 2021 at Parkview Noble Hospital.   She was born to Carl Kirtland and Vera (Prentice) Berends on May 20, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan.  Beverly married J. Irving Grove on June 23, 1949 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They were married for 60 years.  He passed away on July 13, 2009.

Beverly is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Ken) Penokie of Escanaba, Michigan, Anna (Lynn) Bender of Waterloo, Indiana, Joella Carol (Jay) Melton of Dixon, Missouri; son Bill (Mary) Grove of Granger, Indiana. 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruthann Westra of Palm Springs, California and many loving nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sons, David (Linda) Grove, Dana (Marion) Clarkson-Grove; infant sister, Clara Kirtland; and sister Shirley Schawe.

Beverly loved to sew, cook and bake cakes for the neighborhood kids.

She was a wiz at jams and jellies, too. She was a feisty, lovable honorary mom and grandma to many people. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her.

A memorial service will be held in Beverly’s honor at a later date.
