Betty J. Maloney, 87, of Kimmell, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at home. She was born on September 9, 1937 in Noble County to Earl and Florence (Sylvester) McInturf. She married Robert E. Maloney on March 7, 1964; he passed away September 12, 2014.

Betty retired from General Electric in 1993 after 27 years of service. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Fort Wayne #432 for over 50 years and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #253 in North Webster. Betty enjoyed fishing, crocheting, gardening, crafting, and traveling.

Betty is survived by 2 children, Marcella Thornsberry of Ligonier and Linda Taulbee of Kimmell; 4 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a grandson, Darrell; a great grandson, Joseph Malagon; a son-in-law, Roy Thornsberry; 4 brothers, Dale, Lee, Ralph, and Ward McInturf; and 5 sister, Barbara Slayton, Laura Riley, Ruth Martin, Sharon Emerick, and Ellen Emerick.

A funeral service in honor of Betty will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S, Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Dan Carlson and Pastor Chris Lipford will officiate with burial following at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell.

Friends and family will be received from 4 - 6 PM on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association and American Cancer Association.
