Barbara J Lecount

Barbara J. LeCount, age 91, of Ligonier, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025 at Lutheran Life Village in Kendallville, Indiana. She was born on February 4, 1933 in Ligonier, Indiana to Katherine L. Ostrander. She married Jack LeCount on March 5, 1952 in Angola, Indiana.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Jack LeCount of Ligonier; sons, Jeff ‘Dewey” LeCount of Ligonier, Martin LeCount of Indiana; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and sister, Elsie Hoffman of South Bend.  She was preceded in death by her mother; son, Todd LeCount; grandson, Travis LeCount and great-grandson, Wyatt Veach.

Barbara worked at Ligonier Elementary School for 28 years. Barbara loved to sew, embroider, cook and was known for her egg noodles. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Her family loved her peanut butter pie but her much more.

A service will be held in Barbara’s honor at 11 am on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana 46767. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 3pm-6pm on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the funeral home. Father J Steele will officiate.
