Arnoldo F. Plata

Arnoldo F. Plata, 85, of Ligonier, passed away on December 26, 2021 at his residence.  He was born on October 7, 1936 to Sotero Plata and Natalia Flores in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico.  Arnoldo married Margarita Corinas on October 14, 1967 in Matmoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Arnoldo is survived by three loving children, Arnoldo (Miriam) Plata of Albion, Yolanda (Eric) Porter of Avilla, Josefina (Efrain) Garcia of Ligonier; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Homero (FredesLinda) of Texas, Mario (Maricruz) Plata of Texas; Sisters, Enriqueta Arias of Mexico, Ofelia Martinez of Mexico, Irma (Jose) Macias and Gloria Bocardo of Texas.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of friends and family will be held in Arnoldo’s honor from 12 noon-2pm on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767.  Following the visitation, the family and friends will process out to Oak Park Cemetery for the graveside service.

Arnoldo was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness in Goshen.  He was baptized on October 15, 2016.  Arnoldo enjoyed fishing, being a happy and a positive person, speaking his faith, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
