Abbie Mildred Potee, age 84 years, of Constantine, MI, previously from Emma Lake, IN, passed away on Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025, at Brentwood at Niles, Memory Care Unit in Niles, Michigan.
She was born on January 3, 1941. She was the daughter of Clark Sr. and Nanie (Amburgey) Polly, who preceded her in death. Her husband Richard (Dick) Potee also preceded her in death, as well as two of her sons: Rodney and Bobby Masters and one step son-in-law Dave Hatfield. Her family was large and very close. Some of her siblings preceded her in death including, Thomas Edward Polly, Mary Alice Polly, Baba Polly, Joe (Buster) Polly, Rinda Calhoun, and James Polly.
She is survived by her son Ron (Kelley) Masters, and Gary Masters, Jr. and her daughter in law, Terri (Rod) Masters, and Stepdaughter Linda (Dave) Hatfield. She had eleven grandchildren (Ryan, Myles, Stefanie, Ricky, Grant, Grace, Jodi, Deidre, Melissa, Tricia, and Cathy) and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by seven siblings: Dallas (Gene) Skaggs of Kendallville, IN, Clark Jr. (Donna) Polly of Three Rivers, MI; Helen Kessler (Glenn) of Craigville, IN; Larry Polly of Wolcottville; Patty McCarty of Sebring, FL; Betty Conley of Wolcottville; Dean (Sue) Polly of Wolcottville.
Abbie was a hard worker her whole life, primarily in the Doors and Drawers Department at Coachman for 40 years. To know Abbie was to love Abbie. Even in her final years with Alzheimer's, she remained a loving, kind and sweet person. She dearly loved all her family and will be missed immensely. She was an avid reader of books of all kinds. She always enjoyed growing vegetables in the garden and canning or freezing them. After retirement, she enjoyed her grandchildren, collecting chinaware and mushroom hunting with her good friend, Bob Skelton.
A visitation with the family will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Yeager Funeral Home 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, 46767. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 3:00pm with her brother, Pastor Clark Polly and her son, Pastor Ron Masters officiating.
Memorial contributions in loving memory of Abbie may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
