Alden “Doc” Fausnaugh, age 75, of Ligonier, IN passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 9:41 AM at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Doc was born on March 6, 1935 to Arthur C “Fuzz”. & Mildred J. “Pete” (Moore) Fausnaugh in Sparta Township. On October 11, 1958 he married Nancy S. Miller in Kimmell, IN.
He was a lifetime area resident and served his country honorably in the Indiana National Guard for 31 years. He had owned & operated Doc’s Hardware in Cromwell as well as Tri-County Servicesoft. He also had worked for Kreager Brothers for 12 years & the Armory for 5 years before retiring. During retirement he enjoyed working part time for Bob Wysong’s car dealership in Cromwell.
Doc attended the Cosperville Baptist Church. He was a member of Cromwell Masonic Lodge and also the Cromwell-Kimmell Lions Club. Doc was an avid & dedicated fan of Purdue University.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Fausnaugh of Ligonier; two sons, Thomas W. Fausnaugh of Auburn, IN, Bart Fausnaugh of Atlanta, GA; and four grandchildren: Dustin, Josh, Heather, & Ryan; 5 step-grandchildren & 12 step-great-grandchildren. 2 sisters: Nancy (John) Hoss of the Village, FL & Gale Givens of Fort Wayne, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held in his honor on Saturday December 11, 2010 at 1PM at Yeager Funeral Home- 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767 with Pastor Jim Barnes & Celebrant Larry Baker officiating. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN. A time of visitation will be held on Friday December 10, 2010 from 2-8 PM at the funeral home.
