Mary Jane Carmichael

Mary Jane Carmichael, age 94, of Ligonier, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010 at Miller's Merry Manor in LaGrange.

Mrs. Carmichael was born on July 10, 1916 to Roscoe and Frieda Jackson in Ligonier, IN. Mary Jane graduated from Ligonier High School in 1934 and was a lifelong area resident. She met her husband of over 40 years, L. Dean Carmichael while she was working at Superior Sample Company in Ligonier.
Mrs. Carmichael was a member of the Ligonier United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed football, IU basketball and dining out with her family and friends.

Survivors include her nephews, Dr. William (Eileen) Dodd of O'Fallen, IL, Jeffrey Dodd of Wilmette, IL, Dr. William (Donna) Laney of Rio Verde, AZ, J.Daniel (Mary) Cunningham of Plano, TX, William R. (Connie) Cunningham of Wolcottville, IN; one niece, Gale Cunningham of Wolcottville, IN; 18 great nieces & nephews, 26 great-great nieces & nephews, and a soon to be born great-great-great nephew. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Harriet & Dr. Robert Dodd; a niece, Patsy Fraleigh; and a nephew, D.Douglas Cunningham.

A funeral service will be held in Mrs. Carmichael's honor on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier with Pastor Jean Ness officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 from 10 to 11 AM prior to the funeral service at Yeager Funeral Home.
