Helen C. Chokey, age 84, of Pahoa, HI, formerly of Syracuse, IN passed away at Hilo Medical Center in Hilo, HI on Sunday October 3, 2010.
Helen was born on January 29, 1926 to James and Cora Rosenogle in Noble County and was a 1944 graduate of Cromwell High School. She married Thomas Jackson in 1949, he passed away in 1976. She then married Edward “Dutch” Kline in 1976, he passed away in 1982. In 1985 she married Russell Chokey of Syracuse, who passed away in 1994.
Helen retired from Dana Corporation of Syracuse on January 1, 1987 with 35 years of service. She was a member of Dana Retirement Association.
Mrs. Chokey is survived by one son, Michael Jackson of Pahoa, HI; one grandson; two great grandchildren; and one brother, John Rosenogle of Wawaka. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.
A funeral service will be held in Mrs. Chokey’s honor on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN with Celebrant Larry Baker officiating. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN
There will be a time of visitation from 12-1 PM prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions are to the charity of the donor’s choice.
