Ligonier, IN- David Devantier Ogden was born in Mt. Clemens, MI on June 2, 1937 to William Edgar Ogden & Clara Marie (Schock) Ogden. He finished his journey on August 21, 2010. In his life he touched many people with his kind & loving ways. As a young man he served in the United States Navy. When he returned he met & married Donna Marie Tindle, also of Mt. Clemens, MI. They wed on August 5, 1961.The couple had three daughters: Teresa Ann, Bonnie Lynn, & Wendy Marie. He had his own furnace repair business & worked at Monsanto/Silgan plastics as a maintenance man for 29 years. He was a member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. He later became a member of Wolfe Lake United Methodist Church. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 243 in Ligonier where he could be found cooking, playing cards or playing pool. He served his fellow veterans as a member of the American Legion Honor Guard. He was also a member of VFW in Syracuse. He had a passion for fishing, woodworking, motorcycles, & spending time with his family. After the loss of Donna, his wife of 45 years, he later married Nina Patrick, she survives. They enjoyed nearly 3 years of marriage. Also surviving, are his Siblings: William F. (Laura) Ogden of Franklin, NC, Joy Golden of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Judie (Jim) Wolfe of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. His Three Daughters: Teresa Rust of Fort Wayne, IN, Bonnie (Kevin) Willoughby of Goshen, IN, Wendy (Tilman) Wolfe of Syracuse, IN; His grandchildren: Nathaniel (Alexis Relue) Rust, Ashley (Jason) Casey, Lydia Rust, Abigail Rust, Kevin Willoughby, Audrey Willoughby & Sylvia Rust; Three Great-grandchildren: Jack Ryan Casey, Reagan Wednesday Rust, & Olive Sophia Rust; Six Step-children: Connie (Tom) Stull, Scott (Priscilla) Reeve, Robert (Teresa) Reeve, Brian (Judy) Reeve, Melinda (Troy) Compton, Holli (Jon) Pease; 29 Step-grandchildren & 11 Step-Great-grandchildren. His family wishes to thank him for all the life lessons he taught them, patience, kindness, acceptance, a good work ethic, & how to be loving & supportive. He was always there when we needed him. David will be missed but always remembered. A visitation will be held Saturday August 28, 2010 from 2-5 PM at the Wolf Lake United Methodist Church- 1186 S US Highway 33, Wolf Lake, IN 46796 where a memorial service will be held on Sunday August 29, 2010 at 3PM with Pastor Wray McCallester officiating. Friends may also call from 2-3 PM prior to the memorial service on Sunday.
