Virginia L. Snyder, 78, of Elkhart, IN passed away at 8:40 PM on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN following an extended illness.

She was born on December 13, 1931 to Arthur Fulford and Clarice Nichols in Wawaka, IN. She graduated from Wawaka High School in 1950 & went on to marry Claude E. Snyder on February 27, 1955. Virginia & Claude enjoyed 55 years of marriage.

When they were first married her husband was serving his country in the Marine Corps & they lived at Camp LeJune from 1955-57, then from 1957-59 in Mulberry, IN at Purdue University, 59-61 in Angola, IN at Tristate University, 61-62 in Goshen, IN with Nibco, 62-64 in Ann Arbor, MI with Bendix, 64-66 in Fort Wayne, IN for Magnavox, 1966-2006 in Orlando, FL with Martin Marietta Co. In 2006 she then moved to Elkhart, IN.

Mrs. Snyder was a Licensed Real Estate agent and had managed the Vendor Money room at Disney in Orlando, FL. She was a member of the Wawaka Church of the Brethren and had been a member of the Orlando Church of the Brethren.

Survivors include her husband, Claude E. Snyder of Elkhart; two brothers, James S. (Mary Lou) Fulford of Elkhart, Harold (Nancy) Fulford of Wawaka. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Franklin Fulford.

A funeral service will be held in her honor on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 2 PM at Wawaka Church of the Brethren, 8825 N 250 W; Wawaka, IN 46794 with the Rev. Verne Leininger officiating. Burial will be in Cosperville Cemetery in Cosperville, IN. Friends may call from 1-2 PM prior to the funeral service at the church on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Wawaka Church of the Brethren.
