Gladys L. Rose

October 21, 1910 — August 6, 2010

Gladys L. Rose, 99, of Goshen and formerly of Wawaka, Ind., passed away at 2:15 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2010, at Greencroft Healthcare in Goshen after a brief battle with cancer.
She had moved to Greencroft in 1999 after living in Noble County for nearly 90 years.
Mrs. Rose was a dedicated homemaker. She had also worked at Wirk Garment Company for 20 years.
She was a member of Cosperville Baptist Church and was active for many years in Noble County Home Extension clubs.
Mrs. Rose enjoyed knitting, reading and playing board games which she was sure to always win.
She was born October 21, 1910, in Ligonier, Ind., to J.C. and Bessie (Cooper) Hite. She married Wayland Rose on September 2, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1971.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley ‘‘Sally’’ and Arlen Bobeck of Syracuse; two grandchildren, Brent and Lynn Bobeck of Syracuse and Brad and Stacie Bobeck of Syracuse; and three great-grandchildren, Aaron, April and Andrew Bobeck.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Berniece Weirich, and a brother, Harold Hite.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Evergreen Place Assisted Living, 1300 Greencroft Drive, Goshen, with Greencroft Chaplain Vanette Kashmer officiating.
Private family burial services will take place at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Place Assisted Living.
Memorials are to Cosperville Baptist Church and Ligonier United Methodist Church,
Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier is in charge of arrangements.
